Indoor Air Quality
Dave Lennox® Collection

Indoor air quality, or IAQ is a big concern in environmentally controlled commercial and public spaces such as offices, schools, hospitals, and other institutions to name a few.
In the past, indoor air quality suffered trying when to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, in actuality people were increasing insulation factors and sealing up windows all to save money on energy costs. What came of this movement to seal up buildings was known as “sick building syndrome”. Office workers, students, people occupying these commercial and public spaces on a regular bases were getting ill, and the illnesses were inevitably traced to HVAC systems, building materials off gassing, VOCs emitted into the air from cleaning solutions, office equipment, etc.
In response to this epidemic, ASHRAE had defined a ventilation standard that has been adopted by the national and provincial building codes, so ventilation and IAQ is an issue that every mechanical engineer must take into account when designing commercial HVAC systems in new construction and in design build specifications.
To meet these specifications, Lennox has a full line of equipment and accessories dedicated to improving and maintaining ideal indoor air quality.
